About Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
About Us - Join Us!
All women of St. John’s are members of Episcopal Church Women. Two annual meetings are held each spring and fall. The groups sponsors one major fundraiser, a holiday bake sale in early December. Funds raised support local non-profit agencies and parish-sponsored activities. The ECW is managed by an executive is a board, president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, past-president and various committee chairs. Ministries
United Thank Offering (UTO) It’s not all about the blue boxes, although that is how most people know the traditional UTO tradition! Throughout the year, save your pennies, loose change, or bills to set aside for the work of the UTO. Once a year, at the Diocesan Eucharistic Festival, the funds are received by the Bishop and forwarded to the National Church for use around the world. UTO boxes or envelopes are available at church. Prayer Shawl and Prayer Squares Ministry Since 2004, a group of women have been knitting and gifting prayer shawls and prayer squares. Other women assist in this ministry, offering in kind acts of donating yarn, providing labels, etc. If you are interested in being part of this group and/or if you wish to request a shawl for someone, contact us at communications@stjohnswausau.org. |
